New Dish1000 & 6000ird problem

I have a 6000ird and a new Dish1000. I have a Dishpro adapter connected within 10 ft of Ird. I have taken all software updates for the receiver and the info screen shows version 829 software.

Problem is the Ird sees the switch as a Dish500 Twin, picks up the 110 & 119 Sats but will not detect the 129 Sat. Have tried every checkswitch available and reset by doing checkswitch without Sat-in feed connected. Have verified correct setup of dish by using only the single Lnbf in all 3 locations on the arm and verifying locked signal strengths on all 3 Sats.

The issue seems to be the receiver is not correctly identifying the internal switch in the Dish1000 so it does not see the single Lnbf for the 129 sat.

I know of 1 other person with exact same problem so tends to rule out bad connections or hardware.

Anyone have solution to this problem? Do I need another switch?

I could never get my 6000 to pickup the 3rd sat from a dishpro plus twin without using a power inserter. I eventually got a dpp44 switch which has a power inserter, now my 6000 picks up all 4 sat locations.

Cheapest way might be to pickup a dishpro reciever on ebay and just leave it connected to the lnb, without activating it or anything, just leave it plugged in :)

The dpp twin wants 19v, and your 6000 is only feeding 13 or 18v depending on polarity.

Also, you dont need the dishpro adaptor if you are using a d1000. The d1000 comes with a dpp twin, which will work fine with legacy equipment.

I went with the DPP44 when I upgraded to Dish1000 last week. Now my 6000u receives all four sats (61.5/110/119/129) just fine. The DPP44 is expensive, but in the long run I will be able to have three or four dual-tuner receivers throughout the house running on a single RG6 (plus separator) to each. So it is worth the up-front cost.

aj3: Your problem is that the DishPro adapter prevents the "Plus" feature of the 3rd input from working.

Hokie has a good idea - just plug in another box (does NOT have to be activated), and REMOVE the DP Adapter.

OR, if you have the suitable skills, just run the appropriate DC power up another RG-6 to Port 1 of the DPP-Twin, and again, remove the DP Adapter.
