New Dish Install with replayTV

Hi everyone, I think I am going to switch to dish from directv. I'm a little confused about what equipment I should request. I want a 942 HD DVR for my HDTV , but I also need to feed my wifes replaytv 5040 (she loves that thing, and will not part with it) on the same TV. I would also like to have dish on another room in the house on a non HD set. Any suggestions what I should et besides the 942. If I screw up my wifes ability to record house hunters on her replay I'm in deep trouble...

to SatelliteGuys... I am a Replayer, I have 3 but I also have a dish 921 hd dvr along with other receivers. The Dish 311 is the basic sd receiver that should interface very well with your wifes 5xxx Replay with a IR blaster, the first code for Echostar should work...

The 942 won't be very Replay friendly. I think you'd have to set it to Single mode so that the IR output of the Replay could control the SD TV2 output.

Do what dfergie says - get a 311 to run the Replay.

Simple Simon summed it up pretty good. Get the 942, put it in single mode so that you can record one channel and watch something different on another channel. Get a 301/311 and hook it up to your replay dvr. You could just get the 942 and put it in dual mode. The second output will go to your other tv and you can have the dvr funtion on it too because both tvs will share the massive hard drive together. You could also get a 942 and put it in single mode and get a 510 DVR. They 510 has like a 100gig harddrive and if you have the AEP package you don't have to pay a DVR fee. This way you want have to pay that Replaytv fee.

Yeah but his Wife loves her Replay... I got a new Replay the day before I got my 921, My Replays get as much or more use than the 921 as they are networked with all my pc's... I did try to use Replay with the 921 and tried with my 501, using a dvr with a dvr is not a good solution unless all you are doing is archiving(which is what I do with one of mine)...
