New Dish 211k Firmware Killed Dishcomm

New firmware L4.54 killed dishcomms on my 211k I had it setup with broadband and Caller Id from my other recievers. It is now not working I have tried a hard reset. I wonder if this was to get the DVR functioning correct as I remember reading somewhere on the forums dishcomm was causing problems with some of the features of the 211k if someone runs across that post please post.


But anyways i had a sweet broadband with netgear powerline bridge setup and callerid to all my recievers and it is broke now.

Usually I reboot the receivers after a software update. Have you tried rebooting yours and see if that fixes it?

and why not? If it loaded the software and it bugged out a hard reboot usually fixes the issue

heck when I updated the new receiver my grandma got it was stuck on "downloading info dont turn off" blah blah blah but it was stuck on "searching for satellite" I unplugged it, plugged it back in and it worked great then

Mine was stuck in the middle of a download one time. It sat there forever. I pulled the plug, when it came back up, I turned it off it started the download again this time no problem.

I had a vip211 replaced and the new one has a purple card installed and S/W L523. NO dishCOMM!

won't let me scan says Call Dish. Can't add manually because there's no key marked add. it's scan. My 722 can't find the 211 and when I press 2 on the 211 it says No DishCOMM.

A tech is coming tomorrow on another issue what should I say to him to fix DishCOMM?

good luck with that. Smith P. you live in a dreamworld if you think a tech will be able to "fix" a software issue. I'll tell you what the tech will do. He'll probably robably ask you what dishcomm is. About 12 months ago, I think we were given a sheet of paper that said something about dishcomm. No good troubleshooting steps, no good technical description of how dishcomm works. The only reason I know anything about dishcomm is from this site. So given that information I would recommend that you stick to this site for the more technical issues.

Mine was working fine until the new software which is annoying.. hopefully they will roll it back or put out another fix.

mines back working now but it shows red online, when before it was fine. The phone part works and thats all that I care about for ppv

Put me on the list for Dishcomm not working. I have a 622 & 211. The phone line is plugged into the 622. I tried to insert the 211 R##### into the 622 receiver. A screen pops up for me to call Dish. The 211 will not scan and the call Dish screen also pops up.
