If this is the rumored box that is supposed to work with both Directv & Uverse TV, then it will be interesting to see if you can purchase it third party or if you can only get it from an AT&T office & then, only an AT&T installer can install it.

Sure these aren't receivers used in the Latin American markets, the other STB's that start with an L are?

Honestly I don't know anything about these boxes, but if they were for Latin America why are they going through the FCC for approval?

Sort of confusing...

No mention of what the "LH44" is, and this "LC61-100" is supposed to be a client box, but a client to what server?

And well .... at least before the merger the "L" letter prefix meant it was intended for the DIRECTV LA market.

If I were to guess, these are to be H44 Genie lite and C61client box versions for LA.

The US version of the H44 won't do live 4K, you have to have an HR54. Not sure why Latin America would be any different.

I looked up LA receivers for LA Directv, & "that other site" had a thread in 2014 about a LH26 that resembled a H25, but had unique features for the local market(Argentina) that allowed it to pick up OTA transmissions built in, & using a 16gb & over USB stick, it could operate as a dvr. So the idea that a LH44 could broadcast 4k or operate like a HR54 while looking like a H44 Genie Lite wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities, especially if it's tailored for the television broadcast standards of the local market.

OK then, it is our guess, that these are renamed and possibly reconfigured existing equipment for LA that we'll probably never see here in the States.

So what next for us is still a big question mark.

The RB transmissions are for US only. It is possible that the LA sat could use the KA transponders for 4K.

Wrong... SKYM-1 has two reverse-band transponders in addition to its core payload of 24 Ku-band transponders. Sky Mexico is a part of DTVLA even though it is its own entity. Also people forget's that Sky Mexico also uses remanufactured Directv equipment.

The interesting thing about the LH26 that I read from that "other site" was that it obviously wasn't a SWM only receiver. They were(at that time) still using the old legacy pre-SWM satellite hook-up, plus an Eagle Aspen DTV3X4 multi-switch for it. But the thread mentioned a newer receiver, the LH27-100, which appears to not have internal OTA capabilities, & is SWM compliant.
