I just had a 622 installed Tuesday and right before I signed the work order I noticed that the HD channels as well as the local off air digital channels would not show up. 2 hours later I found out that I needed a Dish 1000 which the installer did not have so DISH Network will come back Sunday to install. Therefore, no HD until Sunday.....hopefully. My question is this......... Should I be able to see the OTA channels? I did a scan and it found 24 channels with good signal, but when I go to add these channels, it does not show up on the guide? A 60 minute phone call to Dish Network HD Tech support also produced nothing. Will these not add because of not having the Dish 1000 or am I missing something? Thanks in advance for the help.

Its because you dont have the HD package yet, they can turn on the OTA tuner however they will charge you a $5.99 a month HD Enabling Fee to do it.
Chances are they dont want to do this as it could actually cancel your install of the dish 1000.

You have the orgianl HD pack and a 942. You buy a 622 and have it added to your account. The 622 will now recieved the HD channeld from the old HD pack BUT the OTA tuner still wont be activated becasue you have not deciced to upgrade to the NEW HD pack?
