New 12 Ft C-Band dish need advice

Hello,
I have posted a few other times and finally have my new BUD,
It is a KTI 12Ft Mesh with 2 Norsat 3220 LNB and a Chaparral Feed horn.
I have a few question that I was hoping could get answered.
1) What is still Available as far as C-band goes?
2)Which 1 SAT is the best to use for a stationary dish?
3) If I were wanting to get subscription stations would I have to get a 4dtv receiver?

I have a 10' CM parked at 99W for the networks, but there are other favorites.

With a positioner box from Sadoun Sadoun Powertech GBOX V3000 Positioner DiSEqC 1.2 Compatible

You can move your dish and get most of the birds

For subscriptions the DSR922 seems to be a big favorite, lots of features.

For $129 you can get a DSR410 from Skyvision, their packages start at $13/month

which had a built in positioner tp store satellite positions
it had a separate 24volt outlet to move a 12"-36" actuator motor arm


can any of these receivers move a 12"-36" actuator motor arm for a 3m/10ft dish

If your using a 12 foot dish you want to move it it's a waste on one bird. 4DTV's are out there you just have to look for them. There your best bet to sub to stuff. Get a 4D and a DVB receiver and you'll command the skys

Use a old analog reciver or a 4dtv to move the dish, with a 4d you can grab a sub so that a plus, and there are a few DCII channels free, I would stay away from any viewsat or sonicview receivers they are poor, look for a Coolsat 8000/8100, Digiwave 9000 or the Pansat 9000, as these have been the best so far in North America.

First of all, very nice dish.
1) There is still quite a bit available. Alot of feeds still up there. Most of it has gone to DVB so you'll want to add a DVB receiver.
2) I agree with the other poster on this one. You want to motorize this dish and take full advantage of it. Otherwise you have a sports car that's not leaving 1st gear.

Those won't move the dish. You would have to add a G box to move it with those. Otherwise you can find a cheap analog C band receiver on ebay or someplace to move it for you

I do have a DVB receiver it is a Coolsat 5000.I also have an old Cband receiver that will move the dish but am unable to find the remote. It is a Toshiba TRX-4400

Oh, well you are sitting in pretty good shape. Maybe add an HD receiver? Maybe you can find a remote for the Toshiba. What kind of programming do you like?

You sound like a perfect candidate for a 410 subscription. You don't need to move the dish. You only need C band not Ku. The programming packs seem to have what you want at a reasonable price.

I guess all of this makes the answer to your last question about needing a 4dtv to subscribe...... not necessarily
