Welcome to the forum, 2loud2k2xd!
Have you called RCA? What do they suggest?
FYI: If this is an HDTV set, I've heard many Home Theater enthusiasts remove the protective screen altogether to improve the picture quality...

I concur with Ilya.

As long as you don't have *kids*, remove the screen and dispose of it or store it somewhere in the off chance you decide to sell the RCA in the future.

It is generally agreed that removing the protective screen on RPTVs will increase your PQ.

That being said, the fact that your screen has become scratched indicates that someone or something (kids or pets?) scratched it. If the offender will be staying around you'll definitely want to replace the protective screen rather than simply removing it.

I would suggest contacting the retailer from whom you purchased the set. I used to work in customer service for CircuitCity and all purchase information for the previous 10 years from all locations, nationwide was available to me.

If you could provide the phone number you used at the time of purchase (you'd be surprised how many people couldn't) or the credit card number used to make the purchase I could find the purchase in seconds (a few minutes if you had made a lot of purchases). We could also search by name, but unless you have and extremely unusual name it's likely there will too many records to search through to find yours. I once did a search on my own name and found more than 100 Kent Kimmels who had made purchases at CC 23 of them (including myself) were Kent R Kimmels.

In any case, with a little luck your retailer should be able find you purchase info, including the model number of your TV. They may even be able to provide you with a replacement screen (for a cost) through their service department.
