need set up help

I need help! I can get high signal readings but no quality -0- on any satellite I go to. I'm not sure if my menu or dish settings are correct. My equipment is as follows:

Viewsat Extreme
Universal Fortec Star LNBF Low 9.75
High 10.6
90 cm Fortec Dish

SM3D12 motor

ZIP CODE 01001

I'm completely new to this and tried to follow the manual and internet information but am only getting more confused. Thank you for any help!

Hi and welcome,

What are you trying to receive?
The dish and lnb are good.
I'm sure someone in the forum will tell you which one is your true south sat.
First try with your true south sat, as you won't have to adjust tilt.
Assuming your receiver settings match your LNB and the sat you're aiming for, your problem could be just correct aiming.
The easiest way is to have your receiver and TV in a visible spot from where your dish is located.
The spot at which the receiver reads quality is very precise. A quarter inch off and you won't get anything.
Providing your mounting pole is perfectly vertical:
Adjust the elevation and tilt, then sweep laterally very slowly watching the signal meter from your receiver on your tv.
At the point where signal peaks, you should get quality.
If not, move the dish up and down very slowly.
I usually leave the nuts for elevation and lateral movement a little loose until I hit the sweet spot.
It will take a little time, but once you get it right, you'll see that is not that difficult.
Without having a TV in sight it is very difficult to get the best quality, even with a handheld satellite meter, unless you have a very advanced and expensive one.

Don't setup the motor yet until you get quality with the dish by itself.

True south is the same as your longitude.... 72 deg. (AMC-6)

Or if you have a DBS LNBF, change your L.O. to 11250 and use DirecTV1 at 72.5 w
