Need Help with Yamaha 5560

I have a Yamaha HTR-5560, I have a optical connection & digital coax going from the cablebox to the reciever. The receiver is set to auto mode so if its a digital source on the front of the display it would display DGTL and whatever sound mode I was in. Two nights ago something happens the sound cuts out, the only sound I get is now thru the analog inputs, no surround sound. Check all of the cables everything still connected. So I try my dvd player wich is also hooked up using a optical connection, I put in Spiderman 2 superbit on the DTS track, nothing on getting analog 2 channel audio no matter what setting its on. Now this has me thinking that maybe its something with the receiver. As anyone ever run it a similar situation and what steps were/are needed to correct this? I also unplugged the optical that comes from the cable box and noticed the red light, which means the cable box is still sending the digital connection, correct?
