what whatchel1 means is on the screen when you select a transponder (menu 6-1-1) under transponder it should switch to "SPOTBEAM" when it locks the signal.

sometimes it shows a signal but can be deceiving. The only way to make sure you're within the spotbeam is on the screen that word changes from "transponder" to "spotbeam"

Unfortunately it never changes to say Spotbeam unless I set it to 11. Otherwise, it locked in the signal (22 & 24) and displayed transponder...
