Need Help with Digital TV Channels Missing

I have a digital cable box and I have a problem. I am getting my cable from our head End from Dish Network to my home through a cable. I live in a community that is serviced this way for all the homes. The problem is that I don't get all the channels, there are about 15 channels missing.
My input goes into a 5 way splitter and from there it goes to five other TV's and I am missing channels.
I take the splitter out and hook it direct to one tv and I get all the channels. I also attached a splitter with one input and two out puts to two tvs and it is OK. It only does work when I hook it to the splitter with five outputs. Is it because the TV signal may be to weak for the five way splitter but ok for a two way splitter. Any suggestions or recommendations.
Thanks,
Stephen

Your asking questions in a DISH Network forum about a non dish problem. It sounds like your community is on a master antenna cable system and signal level is too low for your splitters. Try using a signal amplifier before you connect to a splitter.:)

Thanks for your comments.... The tv signal is coming from Dish Network on a satellite dish and then it go to all the homes through fiber optic.

Your original source maybe DISH Network but you don't actually subscribe your self to DISH. Your signal is being distributed to you as a processed signal on a master antenna distribution cable (SMATV) system.:)

This signal doesn't come a master antenna. What I am referring to is a dish Network digital cable box. The signal that we receive for the digital boxes comes from Dish Network satellite to a satellite dish at our Head End and then processed to the homes through fiber optic. Once it reaches the house it is then processed by cable to each TV in the house.
Is it possible that the DB level is to low? Do you know what the DB level should be for a good picture, is there a DB range that it should be?
Any help would be appreciated.

"Do you know what the DB level should be for a good picture, is there a DB range that it should be?"

For Dish Network receivers is -60 dBm but Bob is right. You need to call the company or person that setup the head end.

People are trying to help you. First of all the situation you describe does involve an antenna---the DISH is an antenna. Second these forums are filled with people that are familiar with the DISH Network consumer system. What you are describing is something different. Perhaps someone here has some knowledge but it si a different system.

Does this setup involve a Set top box of any kind or are the signals such that any cable ready TV can get them? I believe that a set top box is involved but I might be wrong. If you have boxes can you describe them in any way. Is ita digital cable (QAM) signal?

Yes, it is digital cable (QAM) signal. The cable box is a 351 Dish Network cable box. Again I put a box there that was getting all the channels at another house. If I hook this up directly without going through a five way splitter some channels are missing however like I said is I just use a two way splitter or hook it directly it's OK until I hook up the 5 way splitter.

Sounds like a distribution amp might help, in place of the 5 way splitter. 5???

The 5 way splitter has to be there to send the TV signal to five TVs in the house. Are you saying that an amp should be before the splitter to raise the DB level. Is the DB level to low when I put the 5 way splitter on?

You can buy a "distribution" amplifier to use in place of a splitter. You can buy, for example 4 output and 8 output models. You might leave some unused. Lose the splitter. I don't believe I've ever heard of a "5" way splitter.

Just make sure that whatever amp (and splitters) you choose work well with that QAM signal. Remeber it is digital cable not OTA or (at that point) a satellite signal.

I want FSN - Wisconsin HD please.
