I just got my pansat 3500 Sd and slaved it to the Toshiba analog IRD.

I did download from few satellites Anik 2 Anik 1 etc.,with no problem.
Here is the problem: My analog IRD was programed 8 years ago ,I did not use it for a while, and now I see that a lot of satelittes are no longer there or were moved to different locations. I have a map with the new satellite positions, but I can't get to the new satellites because the analog receiver can,t find the signal ,as most of analog is gone.
Exampe; I move the dish and count the clicks.( 2 clicks for 2 degree ) to an aproximate destination . If there is no analog live feed I cant zero in the right position.
How can I position the Pansat . I am using video 1 input for the analog IRD and video 2 for Pansat. How can I move the dish to the correct positions

How can I move the dish to the correct positions

What i do is i will enter the transponder i like from lyngsat and get my polarity right then move the dish east/west by clicking untill the pansat shows signal. This works pretty good for me, my actuator has limits to prevent flipping. Sometimes at night i get lost and sort of lose what degree i am at, but the satellites will help you with that.

First thing I'd do is disconnect the FTA receiver and the sidecar receiver. I've found that if everything isn't set up right, you may miss channels. With the analog receiver by itself, you can more easily find satellites. Global Communications has a good list of satellites and active channels to help find satellites.

Once you find several satellites, you can interpolate to find the locations of non-active satellites. For example, if the satellite at 97W has an antenna location number on the receiver of 1000 and the satellite at 101W has an antenna location number of 2000 then move the antenna to 1500 and the satellite at 99W will be real close. Once you have all the satellites located that you want, then reconnect the other recievers one at a time and get each one up and running before adding the other. That way if you have problems you'll more easily isolate which unit is giving you the problem. Have fun.
