Need help installing a H21-100 with 3 LNB dish

I currently have a 5 LNB dish and a 3 LNB dish. My 3 LNB dish is located on one side of the house and my 5 LNB is located on the other. I have a H21-100 receiver that I want to connect to the 3 LNB dish. I went through the Satellite Setup menu and chose 3 LNB dish. When it gets to the "Receiving Satellite Info" screen, the progress bar gets stuck at 99% and will never advance. Hooking this receiver up to the 5 LNB is not an option at this time. And I am not worried if I do not receive all HD chanels at this moment on this receiver since it is only used in a guest room.

Sorry nobody with knowledge answered your question here. I remember trying to hook up an HR21-100 to a phase three dish & once getting to 99% the install failing. I'm checking on a friends install tomorrow (3lnb) & will be hooking up a HR21-100 to see if I can get it to work. I didn't spend too much time trying & didn't have any b-band converters with me at the time (though I can't understand why they would be needed with a 3lnb). At the time, all non slimline receivers booted just fine (even the mpeg-2 HD).

Will try to let you know what happened by Tuesday night.

I used a Phase III with my HR20-700 with no problems hunting in October...

Cochese, I wish I had better news for you but my HR21-100 booted up just fine with the 3lnb Phase3. I still hung at 97% for 10 minutes (longer than normal) but eventually built the table scheduler & went to picture. The dish type was even still set to Slimline 5lnb & I didn't even try to switch it to 3lnb because A) it was working & B) I coudln't remember if I confrimed the change by hitting the dash if it would then completely reset & erase all my saved movies. I didn't need the b-band convertors either.

Correcting my earlier post, the unit that failed to initialize at 99% was a H20-600 hooked up to the Phase3. I know you mention your H21-100 is hanging & I'm interested to know if the non DVR units are having some type of trouble with the Phase3 dishes. I can't think why they would be but I know my H20 failed after 99% and a new screen poped up telling me something like the system was unable to initialize.

I'm going back out this weekend & will this time attempt to hook up the same H20 that failed before. Last time I even went into setup & tried to change the dish types & that still failed.
