I love that the Hopper includes a nice big 1TB hard drive. Why oh why did they stick with only three tuners? My old reliable 722 has three tuners (one OTA). Sometimes I wonder if "D" and "E" don't get together and say. OK you can put in auto hop and some other stuff, but only three tuners on your new Hopper and we'll stay away from commercial skip but you can't put five tuners in it cause we're going to do that with our Genie. Let us know when your ready to come out with something new so we can collaborate. Don't want to give em too much all at once.

If you can say that your 722 has three tuners then the Hopper has 4 (one OTA.)
Need more tuners? Get more Hoppers. What you appear to be asking is for a CHEAP way to do a lot of tuners. Not possible with sat.
DirecTV offers 5 tuners (OTA even takes up a tuner when in use.) Dish offers 6 tuners PLUS two OTA PLUS PTAT. Need more than 6 tuners? Pony up. No different than DirecTV other than offering 3 more tuners than Direct.
