NCAA Football 2011-2012

Pretty much. The schools playing know this before hand obviously. Is this surprising to anyone?

Why do they call it a HOME game then ?
I would NEVER want to go elsewhere to play a HOME game.

I know Ohio State and Toledo have played in Cleveland, but thats so more fans can see the game, Toledo only holds about 35,000 and the money goes to Toledo (or probably the MAC)

In the instance above, both are BIG teams, not a case where one team gets a huge payout .

What difference does it make who is considered the home team at a neutral site game? Yeah, often times, the site will be closer to one school, so what? I doubt you could actually find an equal distance site for any game. Again, the schools know this before hand, and there is obviously a draw to being in these kickoff games that will make the big boys want to continue it.

If ohio state makes the big ten champ game, they will either be the home or away team in that game, not on campus. No different here, and no big deal IMO.

Do you KNOW what was being said ? No ...

He did not physically touch him, I have NO problem with it.

I didnt say I had a problem with it nor did I say I KNEW what he actually said.

. I did say he was appeared to be flirting with the line between ass hole and intense coach. To my eyes, that appears accurate. If others dont agree, so be it.

The OSU game would be a Championship game, this one is not.

Didn't think I quoted you on that one, meant to make it to everyone that was looking at it.
I don't see any problem with a coach telling the kid what he did right and wrong !

Ya did. ;)
So I responded.

My post, and point still stands as my opinion, regardless of your intent.

Umm, he wasn't just telling him Jimbo, he was apoplectic in his face.

And somehow I don't think he said he did anything right. Just guessin'......

Michigan/Alabama would have been ridiculously awesome to see at Tuscaloosa or the Big House.

I dont disagree. Obviously I would rather go tailgate in the quad, and welcome the wolverines to the deep south.
That said....
Ill still be excited to see it live from Dallas.
Its a big OOC game at the beginning of the year. These are more often than not these day, played off campus. I am sure the schools are compensated to reflect the loss of revenue that would result from these games not being on campus.

BTW, for the SEC fans- if I use my Smug Ego Conference line like I did a while back, the reason I came up with it is because I tried to come up with something to represent the three letters and not make it sound demeaning.

It isn't meant as an insult- it's meant as a playful pun.

A few years back one of my tickets was "Home" game ticket that came with my season tickets pack however the game was played at Panther Stadium.. needless to say I was rather pissed to have to drive that far to see a home game that wasn't at all a home game. This was the VT vs ECU game back in 2008... this was pretty much a ECU home field advantage yet my tickets were classified as HOME and part of my season ticket package...I was pissed and so were many other fans but for some odd stupid reason the schools ripped off fans and forced it there. Oh did I mention that it was 120degree's NO SHADE where I was sitting?? Yeah I was pissed!

These Opening games at neutral fields shouldn't happen... this years VT opening game was the first one since 2007 that VT played in Blacksburg..the rest were at Panther Stadium, Atlanta, Atlanta and then DC last year... gets old!

Well, if the shoe fits.................................;)

Doesn't matter who's closer, when the game is on a neutral site. Georgia has been playing Florida forever in Jax. Back before the Evil Genius showed up, the Dawgs owned the Gators, even though it was 90 mins. from Gainsville, and several hours from Athens. Even though the coin has flipped since then, the Bulldog Nation isn't clammering to end the tradition.

Personally I love the neutral site big games with a big time opponent. Much better than playing a nobody at home. None of the Bulldog fans are complaining about playing Boise St. in the dome for their opener (other than calling for Richt's head that is).

Texas A&M to make SEC announcement - College Football News | FOX Sports on MSN

An official announcement is expected Wednesday regarding Texas A&M University's move to the Southeastern Conference, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported, citing a source.
Texas A&M sent a letter to Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe last Wednesday announcing the school's decision to leave the conference, which had been rumored for weeks.

The move still required a vote of approval from SEC school presidents to extend an invitation, and that came Tuesday night, the report said.

Boooooo! I hate this.

Well there is more.

A&M acceptance to SEC contingent on waiver of litigation - College Football - Rivals.com
Hold everything folks.

The Southeastern Conference presidents met Tuesday night and voted to admit Texas A&M. But the vote came with a stipulation that still must be worked out.

The SEC presidents voted to admit Texas A&M as the 13th member of that league so long as each individual member of the Big 12 waives its right to litigation against the SEC.
