NCAA Football 2009-10 Season

Bucks Throwbacks

The Buckeyes will wear throwback uni's for the game against Michigan. The 2009 installment of "The Rivalry" marks the 90th anniversary of Ohio State's first victory over Michigan. The first victory dating back to 1919 when three-time All-American captain Chic Harley led the Buckeyes to a win in Ann Arbor.

Here's a sneak peak at the uni's....

I'm just happy that the Big East has the chance to personally knock ND out of their bowl agreement for the year.

You could easily make the case that both Pitt and UConn will beat the Irish in the next 2 weeks.

Big East is much better this year than in past years, at least the top part.

HUGE win for tOSU! Possibly, Terrelle Pryor's first defining game as a Collegiate QB? On the road, against a higher ranked opponent, in the land where he is from, but chose to go to the opposing state when he was heavily recruited in High School? I don't want to jinx him, but I think TP is growing up right before our eyes! The future is finally looking bright again for the young phenom!

BTW, the next 2 weeks will be a blast in Buckeye Nation! Win next week (Iowa) and we're going to our first Rose Bowl since 1997 and would secure the Big Ten Title for the 5th consecutive year! Oh, and then there's the last game of the season against that team up North!!!!!!! Oh, I can't wait!

I would wait till he has more than one good game in a row before I would proclaim him turning the corner.

I suppose I have different interpretations for 'defining moment' for Pyror, and 'defining win'. Difficult to argue this was Pryor's biggest win, since he hasn't had many big wins.

I think you may be right, actually, it's me who needs to re-evaluate my expectations for Pryor. He didn't throw the ball away, he didn't lose the game like he lost the Purdue game, so I suppose I should be happy.

I will not get hyped up over the team running over Penn State, regardless of the defensive stats they've accumulated against weak teams. They are not good. The elite offenses in the country would destroy Penn State, it would not even be a game at halftime.

The good news is the Buckeyes will play USC in the Rose Bowl, and not the loser of the Florida-Alabama game. That would be bad.

Tressel gets five weeks to prepare for a game, and as soon as he sees a new wrinkle, he's already unprepared and cannot adjust...

Isn't Arizona actually in first place at this point ?
Personally, I'd like to play USC again.

Well those are ugly ......

They should at least have Grey helmets and the Buckeye leafs on them.
I heard the leaves might be there, even though that didn't start till '68

did I see an OSU fan call USC overrated?

Don't take what I said out of context.

Yes, I said USC is overrated, and I believe that. At this point in time their name is more responsible for their status than their play on the field.

But that was within a long post where I bashed Ohio State after their biggest win of the year, on the road against a ranked opponent. Obviously USC should be ranked higher than Ohio State, but neither team is very good.

Found this ad on ESPN's web-site and thought you all may get a kick out of it:

Look for "The New Gold Standard: Charlie Weis and Notre Dame's Rise to Glory" by Tim Prister (ESPN Books, $24.95), in bookstores on Aug. 16.

Wonder how the sales are on that fictional book? :D

Wonder when the author will release his book "Turning Gold Into Lead"? :D

Let's see, the BE has 4 teams in the BCS 25 and has 8 teams in the conference. The SEC has 3 in top 25 and 12 teams in conference. :D

Yep, looks like the writers and coaches pre-season polls with no BE teams in top 25 were as useful as usual.

Goes the show the Big East only has a few good teams, while the other conference like the SEC have so many good teams they beat each other up and knock each other out of the rankings.. GA even as bad as they are this year would be in that top 4 group in the Big East teams... Tennesee would be at least in the top 2.
