NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Virginia Tech doesn't seem to be having too many problems. They've had at least 10 wins every season since joining the ACC. Boston College has had at least 9 wins every year since joining. Miami's glory days are far behind them. Randy Shannon's got a lot of work ahead of him.

You make it sound like they will never recoup....LOL:rolleyes: They are just rebuilding my friend....the sleeping Giant is only taking a nap....;)

I have to agree with salsa on this one. There is way, way, way too much talent in Miami and Dade counties for them to not recoup. I remember when Tennessee and Miami had a home and home series back in the early 2000's and something like 74 of Miami's players were from the Miami area. That's an insane recruiting advantage.

I'm just saying that Coker left a big mess for Shannon to clean up. But as jwfgeol said, Miami's got the advantage of being in Miami, and are the program that many of those big South Floridian recruits grow up watching and dreaming to play for.

Saying their best days are "far behind them" may have been a bit hyperbolic, but I just don't think of Schnellenberger and Johnson when I look at the program now.

I think we have the right amount of people for each area to cover college football for the site. I think every position is filled.

Let's recap:

I'm the Texas Tech fan, Big East defender, and ACC basher.

SamC and David are the Big East bashers- our verbal battles are like Ohio State-Michigan.

salsadancer and anders are the ACC guys (I'm sorry about my ACC bashing, but I need to see them win a BCS game.)

Jimbo, HD MM and Sandra- From this point on, I will be dubbing them 'The Three Buckeye-teers," given their gridiron loyalties.

Paul is a Michigan fan and the counterpoint

We have a Tennessee fan, an LSU fan, and a Florida fan which has the SEC taken care of

We have some California guys (Marty, KCK_Halo) and Black Hitachi as the Pac 10 guys.

We have Scotty, the Notre Dame guy.

Icewolf is from Nevada, so I guess he fills in the role for the Mountain West and WAC conference.

Now, if I can figure out where BillD's college loyalties lie, we're all set!

A little clickish are we? We SEC fans are not worthy of having our User IDs mentioned? Talk about an obvioius snub! LOL!

You should at least include Ramy in your entourage. He's a nasty old SEC fan too (Kentucky I believe?), but he is the admin of this board. :)

Yes, but where did you come up with the -teers idea ?
It sounds like your making us out to be Buccaneers

I was going to go with 'Three Amigos,' but I wanted to try something clever.

I was thinking about The Three Musketeers, and I realized that the Buckeye fans on this site was a trio (you, Sandra and HD MM), I came up with the idea.

I hope they like it.

:) I'm not like all you guys that are very passionate about college football. Don't get me wrong, I'll follow it and all that, but I really have no allegiances.
I'm more of a pro sports fan plus college hoops (nothing like March Madness). Everything being equal, I'll root for BC because of the obvious local ties. As far as teams with legitimate National Championship aspirations, I like two conferences: SEC (love watching CBS on Saturdays) and the PAC-10.

I guess I now know why you haven't partaken in my great debates with SamC on whether the ACC is worse than the Big East.

You're a Texas fan.

OK- I'm a Texas Tech fan.

Big showdown in Lubbock on the 1st of November!

No offense, but I kinda think Texas is ranked a little high this year. Other than McCoy, who else is a threat on offense?
