NCAA Championship Week

Who could win the national coach of the year and player of the awards?

I'm picking LSU's Trent Johnson and Blake Griffin to win both awards.
Griffin seems like a lock for POY. I don't think Trent Johnson is the coach of the year. He won that honor in the SEC, but LSU isn't really that good. The coach of the year should go to Bill Self or John Calipari or even Leonard Hamilton at Florida St, though I doubt he'll get it. Self and Calipari lost virtually everybody off last year's teams and still won big.

Another low-scoring Big 10 game.

Anders, you are right- this conference is dreadfully dull.

It's a shame for me, because when I lived in Buffalo, I grew up near Big East country.
I'm not watching it. The good news is that after next week Michigan St should be the only Big Ten team left standing. The rest will be easy marks to lose in the 1st and 2nd Rounds.

BTW, anders, do you care about the women's tournament?

The Tar Heel women have been no slouches on the hardcourt.
Yeah I know. Actually, they're not quite as good this year, but I can't really get into it. I want them to win, but I don't watch the games or get upset if they lose. Watching chicks play is about as exciting as a Big Ten game. They miss ridiculously easy shots and no one can get above the rim. Besides Connecticut and Tennessee have had a deathgrip on women's hoops for a long time and I don't see that changing.

I will follow the NIT (a little), but the other two?? PFFTTT!!!

I mean I'll probably get the brackets for both of them and may check the games out but will it be the be all, end all, I dont think so. I may check it out but the NCAA and maybe a little of the NIT is where Im going.

You're on your own there my friend. The NIT is a depressing tournament. Not only are the teams mediocre, but many of the schools are on spring break, or they just don't care, so the games are played in empty arenas.

Louisville gets the #1 overall seed.

Anders' "Louisville is the most ovverrated team in the country" remark is this site's equivalent of the famous 'Dewey Beats Truman" line.
