NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

St. Johns must really suck, they got their butts handed to them against Pitt.

I don't know if they even deserve to be in the Big East.

Since their early pratfalls, Louisville has been playing very well, #6 in the country, poised to move up, and a 14-2 conference record.

Anders said that Louisville was once the most overrated team in the country.

I believe he owes them an apology!

The latest CBSsports.com bracket projection has Boston College playing Ohio St. in an 8-9 matchup.

Now THAT would be fun my Ohio St. friends! :) :up

I gave them their due when they beat Pitt. Louisville was overrated, but they have been solid for a while now. I also said that Oklahoma was overrated. Now they've dropped a couple of games.

BC has a decent shot for the coveted #4 seed in the ACC Tournament (which would give them a first round bye along with Carolina, Duke and Wake Forest).

The Eagles (8-6) need to win their last two games (@ NC State....admittedly that won't be easy and home against Georgia Tech), and hope that Florida St. (9-5) and Clemson (8-6) split their last two games.

The Seminoles are at Duke and host Virginia Tech. The Tigers host Virginia and are at Wake.

As long as BC can win in Raleigh, they have a real good shot.

I love to play over/under on this site, and here's one I think anders will get a kick out of:

Over/Under- 2 Big Ten tournament games with at least 105 combined points?

At least 105 or no more than 105? If it's no more than 105 I'll take the over. If it's at least 105 I'll take the under.

The messed up thing is that as bad as the Big Ten is to watch they'll still get several teams in the tournament. If someone like Illinois or Wisconsin played Arizona St in the tournament it might be the most boring game ever.

Hoping with yesterdays loss the buble has not burst for Michigan. Going back to the tournament would be great to get to program moving another step forward. They most likely need to one there last regular season game and take a game in the big ten tournament

So, UConn back to #1. Memphis getting some (undeserved) first place votes, and slotted in over Pitt.

Undeserved?

Are you saying that as long as you're in a power conference it's OK to lose multiple times, yet it's a sin to not lose in a weaker conference?

Memphis is WINNING every game in their conference; why should we punish them? They are the biggest overachievers in the country- NOBODY had them being ranked this high with all the talent they lost.

I am so sick of the 'weaker conference' argument; who cares about the other 10 teams in Conference USA? It's not Memphis' fault they have the only decent coach in that conference!

WHY is UCLA still ranked in the top 20?

IMO, they are the biggest example of a school's name taking precedence over performance on the court. They should have dropped out of the top 25; they already lost to Washington State AT HOME (something they've done only twice ever), and have clearly looked nothing like what they were last year.
