Classic trap game, they were looking ahead to LSU.They got it done late but man Georgia didnt look like they even knew there was a game today.
Arian Foster admits to getting paid while going to Tennessee... not been a good year for the NCAA.
"Look at the attention it's getting," Foster said. "They really have us hoodwinked into thinking taking money is wrong as a college athlete. It's wrong for us, but it's not wrong for them. I guarantee every NCAA official has a (BMW) or Benz or something. That's not wrong, but it's wrong for me to get $20 to get something to eat? Dez Bryant couldn't get taken out to dinner by Deion Sanders, his mentor, he sat out a whole season because of that? That's not wrong? But if you can drive around in a Benz, that's OK? It's not right."

Pay them then, and take the scholarship away.
I'd rather they sort it out and be done with it. I'm not for having it both ways though.
I know that the schools make millions but thousands of not athlete students would kill for the hundreds of thousands of free assistance that those players are given.
As for Foster saying it isn't right, he knew the rules when he signed the scholarship. If he didn't think it was right, there are several pro leagues around the globe that would have gladly paid him for his services I'd imagine.

Depending on nfl rules on age of entry, and maybe even is spite of it, most of your talent would still end up at college, the TV contracts and exposure would guarantee it, at least for a while.
I'd be OK with the idea though, but the option is there now. Most athletes choose the college option for a reason, which is why I have no sympathy for the argument for getting paid and it being tough.

I was in the system as a baseball player at FSU, that archaic system needs a complete overhaul, but it will never happen because universities have enjoyed the millions and millions too much and they will NEVER give up that gravy train.

I don't care which way they go with this. However, taking money is currently against the rules and players and programs who break that rule should be punished. It can't be an even playing field when some teams are playing by the rules and some aren't.

Never understood the gripe from college players who get full rides.. Go talk to the kids who have to pay there own way before you cry poor. Talk to the kids whos parents and them have to work to pay the way.

I was one of those poor kids. I got a full ride but I was not even allowed to work a part time to have some laundry money, or to occasionally take a girlfriend to a movie. And if I had to home on emergency, forget it.
You can assume all you want, but I lived that life and it was not easy some many of you think it is.
