Hi all, I was trying to find 74W but I think I might be on 72W instead.

Can anyone confirm that NBC SAT MUX CH 1 > 4 are on AMC 6.

I ran a blind scan after peaking the signal and that is all I found.

Thanks, DC

Ku or C Band?
ONN is easy to find on 74west. See "The List" at the top of the page.

Hi Lak, sorry I forgot to mention the band - just have Ku here.

My receiver was acting strange and would not let me select all of the transponders. So I peaked the dish and ran a blind scan.

I might have run out of memory so I reset the receiver and deleted all the old channels. It seems to be much better now.

Thanks, DC

The NBC SAT MUX CHannels are on AMC6

Hi RVD, thanks for the info. for some reason I'm not getting the weather channel or the other two channels shown on the list. Just got the four MUX channels.

Speaking of MUX, what does it stand for?

Later, DC

I was just getting ready to ask the same question. Great minds think alike, I think.

I installed my motorized dish yesterday, it had been setting in the box for three months. We had just moved in and had higher priorities, at least that was the excuse I used. Think maybe I was a little afraid of the thing. After a little artificial liquid courage, I got the mount dead vertical and used a compass to get the dish true south and set the elevation . Went in and 'BAM' loaded RTN right away and everything was perfect, hitting all sats and no problems. Except on AMC 6 I was getting that MUX stuff instead of the SATOPS I was used to seeing. I had been using a PRIMESTAR dish just for RTN and had not been to AMC 6 for awhile.
I was thinking maybe something was wrong my new dish setup and was going ask about MUX when I saw this thread.

Ok, do you think the MUX is permanent or just something they are doing for the Olympics???

By the way got the new dish from Sadoun and it is replacing eight dishes. Works great and getting real high sig levels on all sats.

According to my scans the name changed between December 23 2007 to January 10 2008.

So that means it's not about the Olympics. That MUX is crap, not getting anything but test patterns. I only get the 4 MUX feeds, that Jesus channel and 1 pay channel.

I'm 35 miles from an off the air NBC channel and live in between large hills in a valley. Was really counting on AMC 6!

I WILL DIE FIRST before I give DTV , cable or Dish a penny. Was in the that biz for 15 years. Jerks. First chance they got they sent my job to Gopal Rama India or somewhere and patted me on the back and showed me the door.
I'm not bitter just mad!

C-band is your friend. Start working on the wife. :)
C-band is the best thing I ever invested time and money in. More time than money.

Where is the good FTA stuff on C band? I got an old 4 ft PANSAT dish with a C band LNB and if I was going to point it somewhere, what would be the best sat? ANALOG or DIGITAL?

The wife loves this stuff and I think she has a thing for Iceberg. Guess I'm gonna have to shave up also.

If you like sports, C-band. if you like news, especially foreign news, C-band. If you like G18 RTN, C-band and a DVB-S2 receiver will get you more. Analog, well it depends. Some feeds are still analog, on c-band, especially sports, but me personally I don't bother with it.
Just like Ku, there isn't ONE satellite that I could point to. G3 is a good choice, or the sat that Ice suggested, G16. I don't regret getting into c-band, not at all. BUT, if you want to see some of the work that CAN be involved, check out my paraclipse thread in the c-band section.

Well, can only get one satellite with the Pansat so I'm to try for the G16 so I'll have all the networks. Got it out of storage and it is a 3 ft one, hope it can do the job on C band, it has a dual LNB. If it works, that great and if it don't, well that's the fun of this stuff, trying out things.
If it does work then I will put in a 22khz switch and have the motorized dish on one side and the C band Pansat on the other.

I was just thinking, that motorized dish replaced 8 dishes, one 22khz switch and two DiSEqC splitters, plus a LOT of cable. I had people stopping by and asking me what the heck I was up to!

I will check out paraclipse. I lived on C-band analog for two years till FTA came along on Ku. G11 was a life saver for us. If it wasn't for that bird, me and the wife might have had to talk.

I will update later on how well the 3ft dish did with the C-band digital signal. This is going to be fun. It did fair with C-band analog, just some sparkles.

Ok, got the 3ft Pansat setup and aimed it at where I thought G16 should be. Hooked in an analog receiver so I could find Shepherd's Chapel. Bam it came in great. Peaked it and switched the LNB to horizontal and got a digital box in line. Did a blind scan and got the LESEA channel and World Harvest TV. Signal was at 70 and quality was 62. Real good for a C-band 3 footer. But can't get the network channels or anything else. Been trying different things for the last three hours with no joy. Kinda of confusing unless those other transponders are really weak or spot beamed. I'm in SE Ohio. ???????????????????????????????????????????
