One thing I didn't mention when I first came here is that I was unable to get my local channels due to trees blocking the satellite that they are carried on. I set up an antenna and was able to get WJET (ABC), WQLN (PBS), and WFXP (FOX). Got absolutely no reception from WICU (NBC) or WSEE (CBS, CW on digital subchannel). The CW was no loss, as I have WPIX. I applied for a waiver for the NBC and CBS stations, knowing that the chances of being approved were slim, considering the locals here are carried by Dish. Surprisingly, they have given All American Direct the OK to provide me with distant CBS and NBC stations. AAD told me to allow 72 hours before the stations appear when I called to activate them this morning. I'm wondering if the owners of the stations knew how impossible reception of their stations is in this part of the area and took the trees into consideration. Either way, I'm glad the waivers were approved.
