Someone posted in another forum that last night the NBA league pass channels were active (at least the Pistons vs. Bulls game). Perhaps the preview will continue during all pre-season games? Can somebody here confirm? Anyway, I'll check out tonight (Spurs vs. 76'er would be sweet!!)

Also, I checked the schedule and there are more games, including up to 3 at the same time during the weekend
I don't know about NHL, but the way to check is to try to schedule the DVR. If it let you do it then you get it.

E* had the baseball games in free preview for the first week of the season. Maybe it's their way of marketing the product.
