NBA 2013 Playoffs

Welp, so much for my pick of Denver to reach the NBA Finals. But when I made it, I stuck with it not expecting Gallinari to get hurt and Golden State to make 634 three-pointers.

You made the same pick elsewhere?

That 4th quarter 20-0 run and near comeback from the dead- that's a fitting way for the Celtics to go down swinging. They've earned the Michael Myers status that the Red Sox had in my early days on here. The other game, OTOH- that was the most Atlanta Hawks game ever. They tease you with a potential of something incredible, and...... ultimately nothing in the end.

Oh well the Knicks aren't going to win a championship and they still have Spike Lee as their biggest fan, sometimes the winners are actually the losers.

Clippers and Rockets Dont wanna go fishing... stay tuned.

Why do I always feel like the Knicks are the NBA version of the Jets.

They've both had some success against our teams- the Knicks coming back to beat the Celtics in the '90 playoffs, and this now this year. The Jets beat the #1 seed Pats in the 2010-11 playoffs and have had sporadic success in the regular season against the Pats.

BUT overall these two teams have been our biatches for over 40 years!

That said, we have been the Yankees biatches!

I'm not gonna overreact about the Knicks, but it's nice to see them at least winning more often than not. When I first joined this site, they were way way down as a franchise on and off the court.

Clippers getting their rods ready

Bill, if you were Danny Ainge, what would you do with the Celtics? The big question is Pierce/KG- do you keep both, one, or none? If anything, I like Rondo and Jeff Green for sure next year. Jason Terry can't be any worse regular-season wise. What they need is a backup plan B point guard as Rondo insurance- as we saw, the lack of a true point guard hurt the C's this series.

I learned from the Bird/McHale/Parish days that you can't be sentimental if you want to win. The Celtics hung on to their championship nucleus too long, and ended up in obsurity for two decades. Now here we are a quarter of a century later and I don't want history to repeat itself. As much as I appreciate everything KG and especially Pierce (a career Celtic) have given to this team, I'm afraid it might be time to go in another direction.
