NBA 2011-2012 Season

LMAO! You would think the Bulls commit no fouls. The Bulls whine and cry every single time a whistle is blown on them.

I can understand you are upset and even complain a little...but to howl and go into full "who me" mode is a little annoying.

I used to really enjoy listening to Johnny Most when someone on the opposing team complained about calls.

"And tonight we're in for a special treat as the Boston Celtics take on Rick Barry and the Golden State Debating Team. Now this "fact" does not appear in the NBA record book, but Rick Barry has never committed a personal foul in his life. Well, at least, that's what he thinks!

Crazy game at Staples. Clips up by 18 at the half.

Code:
      1 2 3 4 T
ORL 18 15 9 27 69
PHI 19 18 21 16 74

Orlando is still over the cap, so all they could afford right now to punch up their offense is... gulp... Gilbert Arenas.

OMG...

Blake Griffin just KILLED OKC's Perkins on a dunk!

damn....just ...ah...damn....:hail:

Yuppppp like Eddie Murphy said in Coming to America.. "In the Face" haha

Furious comeback falls JUST short as Cavs lose to Boston in the rematch 93-90 despite Kyrie Irving's impressive 21 pts explosion and Andy Varejao's 20 pts and 20 rebounds.

Needless to say, the Cavs as cellar dwellers appear to be a short lived thing. This team is competing with the big boys! A few more key pieces (center, shooting guard) and we'll be right there with the big dogs.

My scan of the 4th quarter play-by-play observes that Cleveland had five offensive rebpoounds in the fourth quarter to the Celtics one. While I'm tempted to say that young legs beat old ones in the fourth quarter, the play-by-play doesn't support that. Bass made a couple of fouls, leading to four free throws, and Bradley and Petrius made turnovers. Still this Celtic team can be had in the fourth quarter by lesser teams that play harder and are quicker.

Personally I think it was barely even a dunk. He just got his fingertips on the rim.

Great game at Utah.. LOB city gets their first W there since 2003

The Lakers are struggling on offense big time. More and more proof of how stupid the Odom trade was.

I'd at least call it puzzling. Odom was upset because the Lakers tried to trade him for one of the half dozen best players in the league, who is five years younger and around whom they hoped to restructure the team. Previously, Odom had been traded for Shaquille O'Neil. Not too many players are traded as they key component of swaps for two Hall of Famers who are coming into their primes.. Well, you can't trade your worst guy for their best guy.

Odom had just this year left on his contract for $8 million and a team option for next year for another $8 million. They traded him for a protected first round pick (I don't know the protection) a second round pick and something called an $8.9 million salary excepption, whatever that is. I have read that they have saved $19 million including luxury tax relief but based on his guaranteed salary, I'm skeptical about that number.

The Lakers are $25 million over the cap, so they have really complex cap considerations to make that we simply can't fathom. The $8.9 million salary cap exception is probably as valuable as Odom's contract in piecing together a permissible contract swap, and the first rounder is a valuable trading chip. Most people think that the Lakers will still make a play for Dwight Howard and if they do, the first round pick will be part of the package they give and the cap exemption will be part of the salary ballast.

Still, a case can be made that they could have made a comparable, permissible trade package for Howard by including Odom and would have benefitted more by keeping and using him in the interim. That makes sense to me. On the other hand, the Lakers are restructuring their offense in a way that doesn't utilize Odom's talents as well as their previous offense did, and during the interim between the trade of Odom - which HAD to eventually happen because he was the tradable piece they had - and the present, he likely would have done some pouting at his reduced role. Still, NBA teams put up with a lot of pouting from a player whose role had been diminished while still making use of him (see Cedric Maxwell).

From EspnLosAngeles.com:

"Nowitzki said, describing his first emotion on hearing of the deal. "I mean really to get Lamar Odom for a trade exception -- and I don't even know what that is -- so we turned nothing into a great player.

Los Angeles is thought to be working on a deal for Orlando center Dwight Howard, but the trade exception obtained from Dallas could be only a minor part of any potential deal.

"I don't think this is personal at all," (Paul) Gasol said. "This is a business move, I think. The franchise is looking to do its best for the best interest of the franchise and the team. ...

miami lost again to milwaukee

This was due to all the horrible TOs(18 to 7) and coaching. Jennings is having a great game...put Lebron on him. They have NO ISSUES putting Lebron on Rose, Rondon...this PGs that are hugely talented and the pulse of the opposing teams... WHY then did Spolestra not put Wade OR Lebron on Jennings?
