They have had races with no fans before. It was called “CART”.
Next two races will be run with no fans in the stands. It will be same as a rain out restart. They usually don't have fans in the stands then either.https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nascar/2020/03/12/coronavirus-fears-force-nascar-ban-fans-next-two-races/5033679002/
They are going to race but the public is not invited.
This will only last until a crew member or two get the Virus then it will be done tho.At least we still get a race to watch...if mother nature cooperates long enough. TV Ratings ought to get quite the boost...certainly no other sports are left to be on TV up against it. I would hope for a good show for the potential new fans who might wander by, but then again, it's on a 1.5mi and back to the tiny hp/"giant ass spoiler" package, so that is probably a longshot.

I guess we'll be seeing reruns of every sports there is because those anchors can't fill the time talking about the virus etc.
The hits keep coming...
Scratch Texas, Bristol, Richmond, Talladega, and Dover off the list for now. (I'm going to need some stronger antidepressants. )
Interesting in that release that they say they still plan to run all 36 races. Guess we'll be seeing some mid-week races at somepoint...not sure how else they'll shoehorn that many extra events w/o doing so.
They should run Nascar and Indy car at the same time. See what car is better.Interesting conjecture floating about for the Indy 500 possibly being rescheduled as a NASCAR/Indy combo weekend with the Brickyard 400 and Xfinity (road course) races. Going to be a strange Memorial day for race fans...Potential (likely) Indy and Coke 600 postponements, plus Monaco already cancelled completely.
That would be so "apples and oranges" as to be totally meaningless...They should run Nascar and Indy car at the same time. See what car is better.
