I have had an azbox elite for some time now and no network connection. I always update with my usb stick and enter transponder and satellite data manually. IS there any way to edit or load channel to usb stick without a network connection. I do have a router and mobile internet connection however my bandwidth is very expensive and limited.

Hi freewave. Welcome to sat guys :) Just a couple of questions

Is your Elite in the same area as your router
Do you have a computer in the same area as your router
What version of firmware are you running in your Elite- Original or Enigma2
Are there any unused Ethernet ports on your router

I would think the simplest solution is to connect your Elite to your router. I dont think you would have to pay for data sent from your Elite to your computer via your router cause youre not connecting to the internet.

The original Opensat firmware has provision to backup and restore files from a USB drive. Its in the Settings-System Information-Backup&Restore box. I havent tried the USB method in years but today when I tried it -it only saved my satellite list not the channel list.

I use my laptop through out my house with a wi fi connection and no practical way to hook to the elite. I want to be completly independent of the internet accept for downloading paticular file that I choose. I dont no what you mean by enigma2 files I just use the updates off of azbox snapshots. I am at version 5303 I think but would like to upgrade to 5308 with c and ku split. Would like to do a factory reset and not have the reset move my dish from its present position.
