My Random Thoughts (Taking a page from Sandra's post)

I'd like to do my own 'Random Thoughts' like how Sandra did hers.

My random thoughts on a Thursday night:

1. The Pistons, I think, were aided by the referees in the Celtics game- uncalled fouls and a ton of free throws

2. If the Spurs and Pistons meet in the NBA Finals, I'd rather listen to more 'Spygate' nonsense

3. Phillies look like they are going to turn it around

4. White Sox are starting to play better

5. Tigers might turn the corner

6. I don't like the San Antonio Spurs or the Detroit Pistons.

7. Could there be any empty seats at the Palace for Saturday's Celtics/Pistons game that's opposite Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals

8. I can't wait for the 2008 NBA Draft

9. The Milwaukee Brewers are the most disappointing team in the National Leauge; they are underacheieving mightily

10. The Washington Nationals are doing the unthinkable; NOT attracting more fans in a new ballpark

11. Padre fans do NOT like Albert Pujols

12. If the Blue Jays had some decent hitting, they could make a wild-card run

13. While the Tampa Rays are for real, the Orioles are going to fade

14. The Seattle Mariners are the most disappointing team in the American League

15. I'm glad MLB on Fox is doing a game EVERY week instead of every other week

16. Bill Parcells is going to regret taking the Dolphins job

17. The Atlanta Braves look like they couyld take advantage of their last window of opportunity

18. WHY did the Colorado Avalanche rehire Tony Granato as head coach?

19. Why is it that a good Marlins team can't draw many fans, yet a bad Yankees team draws so many?

20. I hope there will be a thread on the NHL Draft in late June on this site.

21. Billy Beane is starting to look less like a genius with his firesale in Oakland; I think he's gone after next year

22. The Buffalo Sabres are in danger of becoming the Oakland A's of hockey unless they make a splashy free-agent signing

23. Will Avery Johnson work for ESPN next year after being fired, ala Van Gundy?

24. Does ANYONE care about Arena Football?

25. I think some of the so-called 'attractive girls' on TV today can't hold a candle to the babes of my youth (Kelly Kapowski, Karen Foster, Kelly Bundy)

13. Not sure about the Rays. I'm not yet convinced they have legs.

15. I just wish MLBEI carried Saturday afternoon games. That's one part of the package that's still missing.

19. The Marlins stadium is terrible, the Yankees are the Yankees, and Yankee Stadium is Yankee Stadium. Thank goodness it's not called Chase Manhattan field or something like that. Some traditions matter.

20. A thread on the NHL draft on this site? Only if you and I contribute to it.

21. Kelly Bundy wow that's going back a ways! So wait, does that mean you don't find Kristen Bell attractive? I always thought she looks like Christina Applegate in that blonde kind of way.

My random replies on a Friday afternoon:

1. I disagree...to the extent the entire NBA basketball is 2nd rate these days and there have been too many whisles since the Jordan era.

2. I don't see the Spurs making the finals, but I do the Pistons.

5. Tigers are still looking for the road.

7. The local economy is in despair...unless the tickets are given to charity, I expect to see empty seats at both venues. Oh, and it's also a holiday weekend.

10. I don't know Washington seems to think they can now grow a fan base after other failed attempts, a more diverse population where baseball isn't popular, and Baltimore being just up the road.

16. I am surprised Bill Parcells is still alive...he seemed like a poster boy for death by heart attack almost 20 years ago.

24. Nobody cares about arena football...and even less care about NASCAR and SPEED HD.

By location, I meant NYC, population of 8,214,426. As opposed to Florida, where people are more interested in driving around in their golf carts in retirement communities than driving to a ballpark!
