hello all,
i work for a company that does wildblue installs (along with hughesnet and directv)
one of our wildblue dishes got a slight ding in the outside edge and my boss told me i could have it.
well, i brought it home and made a lnb bracket out of an old round directv dish's foot to mount a cband lnb to.
i put a ku band lnb on it and peaked it on 101w, then i took off the ku lnb and replaced it with the cband lnb and got nothing on my birdog or a blind scan.
i also tried pointing it at 125w looking for the music channels that are posted on lyngsat, and still found nothing.
is a wildblue dish just too small for any cband reception?

Did you measure the dish? its probably around 30 to 36in. which is to small
for c=band.

A wildblue dish is about the size of a superdish, you should be able to get some stuff on it. Try 97 first RT is pretty strong.

1 question, how do i position the lnb?
i have never pointed a dish with a polarizer on the lnb before
when i tried it before on amc 4 i used a ku lnb then replaced it with the c-band lnb after pointing it and just slowly spun the c-band lnb 360 deg and never got any quality

Your doing things the hard way. Take the polarizer off the back of the feed so you can change it manually.

You should be able to get something off of 99W in C band.

I would also put a conical scaler ,,,it would improve yr reception quite lot too
