Had my 722k installed last week. The last 3 days it has been shuting off on it's on. Not rebooting but shuting off. The last 2 days has not been as much as the first (where it powered off about 10 times in one hour). I have another 622 that has UHF on tv1 and tv2 but with different address than the 722k. We only watch one tv at a time anyway. Thought it might be high tempature but it runs around 110 average and 122 high. Pretty sure it would reboot and not just power off if over heated was the case. I can get it replaced but just got this one to replace a 722 with a bad hard drive.

Anyone have any suggestions???

Btw. Ihave unpluged it for 30 minutes after the first off power happens but does not help.

First i would change the code on your remote for the 722 and see if that helps, could be picking up random signals. also check to see what the setting to shut it off after a certain time for inactivity is set at. Not doing anything on it will cause it to shut down

I will try changing the address and see if that helps. My inactivity is set at 4 hours. That is fine.

Thanks

Another thing i have found is if you have it plugged into some surge protectors there are problems with them as well. Is it shutting off while you are watching it?

Yes. But not rebooting.
I noticed when changing the address on tv1, tv2 was the same. Even though I only use the 722k for one tv. So the inactivity from tv2 may have been powering off tv1. I changed tv1 so I am hoping that is the fix.

Well. Everything that I have tried so far has not fixed the problem.

I guess time to make the call and get another box.

WT? Never heard of that one.

Some cheap surge protecters have been found to reduce the voltage that goes to a component. it is only slight but dish receivers don't like this and have been doing funny things. if you ever call into dish this is usually one of the first questions they ask whether it is plugged into a surge protester or not. If it is they tell you to plug it into a wall socket directly. I don't know for a fact this is true but according to tech support it is. I have a high dollar surge protector so not worried about it.

I would because you have done everything they will ask of you except check for low voltage which one tech asked me. Make sure you get a good tech on the phone and not one from overseas

That same thing happened to my 622. Give it up and have them send another one. They did that for me and that one didnt' work either so I raised heck and they gave me a new 722K and it's working great. (crossed fingers)
