My 722 calls "home" more than 12 times a day!

Any reason my 722 calls "home" more that 12 times every day, day and night? Each call duration is exactly 5 seconds. When I call that number, it is always busy.

What are the settings in menu-6-1-4? What does it say when you run the "connection" and "call/dial out" test in menu-6-3?

As always, a reset may help
 
I think I figured out the problem. In the Phone System Setup menu (6-1-4) the "Prefix Code" was selected and in the Prefix entry there was some number. Apparently it kept trying to dial "home" using that prefix (I don't require any prefix to dial). I simply unselected the Prefix Code, hopefully that will fix it. Thanks everyone.

I think it's about once every week or two because that's often our STBHealth updates

With my 722k and 622 it is more like once a month. Both connected to the telephone and only the 722k connected to the www.

EDIT: I was mistaken... in July my two receivers called a total of four times... no PPV so I assume two times for each receiver. They called: 1-866-363-7172

Before I hooked the 722K up to broadband it called out on the phone line every night at 10:20PM. Don't know if it called out more often than that, but I'm sure of that.
 
My 722 still has difficulties calling "home", it dialed 12 times in the last 24 hours. At least now it is calling the right number, (866) 363-7172. If I do the Diagnostic Test, Call Out, it dials (866) 366-8634 and I get call out FAILURE.

I tried dialing manually both numbers and it connects fine, although it takes about 10 seconds until I hear the response tones (don't know if that is normal) and my phone log shows each attempted call to last only 5 seconds. BTW, I am using VOIP and the receiver displays incoming Caller IDs without any problems.

I use Vonage for phone of a solid Fios internet connection and the Dish modems have no problem. I believe, however, that I have read posts from VOIP users having problems that were solved using a suffix on the dialed number or similar... you may find something with search.
