Each is a different polarity, so you'll probably want to use both sides, unless you're going for one specific channel, or group a channels that use the same polarity. You can combine the both into a standard old DTV-Style 3x4 multiswitch (very cheap!) and then you'll have both polarities from your LNBF and be able to connect to 4 receivers too!

A 3X4 Multi-switch or a Diseqc switch? I have the Diseqc 2.0 switch in front of me now, would that work?

broke off another thread

a Multiswitch allows you to combine the V & H polaritites into ont switch. A Diseqc would work but you would need to set up 2 satellites in the reciever menu. One for H and one for V

Another advantage is the 2x4 or 3x4 multiswitch would feed up to four receivers.
The diseqc switch would feed only one, and there is no (proper) way to expand that configuration.
But, even if you don't think multi-receiver support is useful, the more traditional (proper) way would be to use the multiswitch.

They're not expensive, if you shop around.
This thread won't tell you where to find a 2x4 for cheap, but it'll teach you how to find one.
