Mpeg 4 Upgrade nightmares! What would you guys do?

Okay, I know there has been literally hundreds of posts on people trying to figure out their upgrade options. So, here is my story!

I own all my equipment, already have a DP44 switch and dishes, so I won't need any hardware that way. Currently I have a 921 in my theater room, a 721 in the living room, and a 508 for the bedroom. Plus, a new, never activated 942 still sitting in the box.

Okay, I just purchased the Sony 60" SXRD set for the living room, will be getting it the end of next week. Last month, I put a nice little LCD set in the bedroom, so I basically now have 3 HD sets.

Do I activate that 942 before the end of the month, or try to sell it now before then? Will Dish still activate my 921, 721 and 508 (and the 942 if I have activated it) to new owners if I sell those after Feb 1?

I'm willing to purchase one 622 outright from day 1, and maybe do the rebate upgrade in April on the 921, but my biggest dilemma is what to do with that new 942.

Easy, send it back. It has been stated they will not activate any MPEG2 HD receivers after Feb 1st so it won't be of value to anyone after that unless you already have one activated.

I would keep the 942 and get rid of the 921.

That's something worth considering. Activate the 942 and then upgrade the 921 to a 622 when that option is available. I'd rather have a 942/622 combo than a 921/622 combo.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Activating the 942 and swapping out the 921 isn't a bad idea.

Reefer and BFG, are you guys talking about whether Dish will activate the 721 and 508 after 2/1? I was hoping to sell these to buy a 622. If they won't, then that would really suck.

From what people have heard you won't be able to get the HD channels if it's activated after Feb 1 on the 921. It will be able to still get the SD channels. I don't think there will be a problem for someone to activate the 721 or 508 after Feb 1st since they are SD receivers.
