Super noob question.

I've had DirecTv for many years and currently use a Samsung 2 channel 100 hour DVR with Tivo. I own the DVR.

I'm upgrading to a new dish and HD DVR from DirecTv (to get HD, of course, and to enjoy the full capabilities of my Pioneer Elite plasma).

I have around 100 entries on Tivo (shows, artist names, etc.) that make up the core of my Tivo programming.

Is there any cool way to transfer these entries to my new HD DVR when it arrives?

My assumption is that I have to start over but, hey, these are reallly just TV-dedicated computers, so why can't I transfer the Tivo entries to the new HD DVR?

Rekeying all that stuff will be a hassle.

Any and all responses appreciated.

As far as I know like dishnetwork there is no software to do so though dish is getting home zone wich may allow it, outside of that you should get a vcr and a bunch of blank tapes and get busy.

I'm not referring to recorded shows.

I mean the Tivo data that drives recording the NBC evening news, anything to do with F1, etc.

Even if you were getting a new Tivo, I believe the answer would be no. Considering you're getting a new non-Tivo system all together, the answer is definitely no.

Remember, even though they're both from DirecTV, these are two completely different pieces of hardware.

That is all the fun of getting a new device. Setting all the timers again.
