My wife and I just signed a contract on a new house and will be moving at the end of the month. I'll be keeping my current house for a couple of months (to fix it up to sell) along with the note so things are going to be tight till it gets sold.

I currently have:
1 - Leased 942
1 - Leased 522
1 - 61.5 Dish
1 - 110-119 Dish

I want to reduce my bill for a few months to ~50.00. can I move (I have been paying DHA) But I also want to upgrade to a 622 for FoodHD and Universal. Should I do this with my move or can I "suspend" my account for 2-6 months and still get the trade-in credit for the 622 Upgrade? Will I be required to send back my receivers if I drop to the Family package(with no HD) after I move(so i can get a 61.5 Dish installed). I will be keeping my HD set but just want to reduce my bill temporarily. I do want a 622 But I don't want to have to pay the "Full" Upgrade price like a "new Customer.

Sorry to ramble But just checking out my options,
Cegarrett

Are you currently under a commitment? If so, dish pause is not an option. If not, you can certainly do it that way. As far as how long the trade in credit will be avaliable, that I do not know.

You can drop down to the family pack at any time as it is the minimum qualifying package. You would not have to return any equipment for doing so. If you have the 622 there will be a $6 HD enabling fee for doing this.

I shouldn't be under a commitment as i moved at VOOM Shutdown. I'm thinking that I may try to keep the HDPack (non metal) but let the Voom channels go. (if I can)

P.S. Thanks for the response

HD pack now included the voom, it is no longer sold seperately

As long as they are grandfathered with the legacy hd packages they can remove just voom. They will never be able to get just voom back though. From the post this seems to be the case.

This is the case. I understand that to get the 622 I'll have to take a metal package but not just yet.

thanks again,
