Was setting up my Channel Master DVR to record today and noticed the programming didn't match the guide. Later in the day I turned to the Channel and was looking at a Test pattern for about 5 to 10 minutes, I had to see what was going on, then all of a sudden the Escape Channel programming came on. No official info on the change. They should have kept Movies.

Its a Cox Media Group owned station and 95 percent of their stations have Laff and Escape as subchannels, must be the reason for the switch, I could be wrong but probably not (Likewise with Scripps Howard and the Meredith Corporation)...

WHBQ is also switching from Movies! to Escape.

And plenty of networks have the wrong subchannel listed for a given station. It's something I'm pretty used to by this point.

Also Laff TV has 2 channel numbers for KC area but not who yet and lots of stations not announced yet. KCMN has other channels so does KAJF and are DTV America stations.

Boston now has 2 ESCAPE channels - 25.2 and 66.4. What gives?
When Grit, Laff, and Escape first came out Univision and Cox were two of the first media groups to make a deal with the Katz group. The contract still has to be honored for the channel 66 until it expires.
It's like in San Francisco with KRON and KDTV both have Get. Media General launched it on KRON and KDTV (Univision) had it at its initial launch.

Assuming 7 becomes CW, 60 stays Telemundo, and 62 becomes NBC, I hope to see something good on 56, not SBN moving there... Not Escape in HD (jk)... Not a lame independent with paid programming.

OTA folks have lost Movies and Cozi and have doubles of others. Not good.

What subchannel would you like to have come to your local market?
