ok iceburg i finealy went in did it talked my wife into letting me have a c band dish,found a guy that has a great working c/ku system 12 ft mesh with a 4dhdtv and gonna add some goodies with it,so your advice on what goodies to add on would be very helpful oh and yes he actually does install c bands for a liveing so he knows what he is doing ( I HOPE ) lol so come on everyone send me some good ideas what to get and make my system fun (not boreing )

Is he throwing in a 4DTV receiver? If not, you'll want one eventually, since most of the good stuff has gone to the digital side. You'll still get more tv than you can watch with a c-ku dish and fta receiver, but if you want HBO and dont already have cable or one of the pizza dish systems, you need the 4dtv which is the only analog/digital receiver for in the clear, and scrambled tv channels. It has a motor to move the dish (so do most of the later model analog receivers for c/ku). You're going big, which is good, you wont have any problem pulling in signals with the 12'.

ya i have my chioce between a new 1 and a used 1 so of course im gonna spend the money on a new 1 and unfortunitly the dead end of town i live in doesent offer cable tv lol in fact we dont have dsl i guess i feel like a good ol country boy with none of the goodies around
