I am interested in the HD stuff on the c band dish. Has anybody used this line doubler to receive the signals. I have seen ads but nothing on any review of it.

Yes, I receive HBO east, HBO west, Starz east, Starz west, Showtime west, Discovery HD Theater and Nebraska's PBS HD feed. They beat D* and E* in signal quality.

Will this work on any of the FTA stuff or can it even be hooked up to this unit

It only works on Digicipher signals. You need a 4DTV receiver (920 or 922) or a Sidecar (905).

Ok thanks for the info. Back to the drawing board to find something that works on the FTA that does not cost like the Quail... Maybe there is no such animal.
