I'm talking with Fortec via email about the possibility of their products being able to received 4:2:2 format transmissions. They have asked me to direct them to a transponder having constant 4:2:2 signals for them to do some software testing. Can anyone assist?

This could prove to be interesting...

Many people are looking for this feature.

Not to argue over words, but is it fair to say its not encryption, in the sense of keeping it from private eyes, but merely a format not standard to our receivers?

Sort of, since a Twinhaun PCI card can pick up and decode 4:2:2.

Anyway, 4:2:2 on my Fortec sounds like a great idea.

4:2:2 is a video format. The twinhan isn't doing anything but decoding the transport stream. Your pc has the proper codecs installed to then uncompress the stream for proper viewing.
