so i think i got it. seems to me that when they switched on the new hd channels, and they are not actually doing an hd program, they look like how mu cable co looks in standard def.
this must mean that the mpeg4 stream is providing more solution and color, etc in the mpeg4 stream.
so that begs to question:
will dtv ever look as good for non hd cable networks as my cable co (cox cable)? trust me, foxnews looks so good on cox cable that the installer thought it was an hd channel. on dtv it is washed out and muddy, but the "new" cnnhd when not in hd looks as good as standard def foxnews on my cox cable.
so there is now way around the poor pq of SD channels until they go "hd" or are broadcast in an mpeg4 stream.
and i think that answers my last post about my pq looking bad.
