The TV agreements for 2008 Atlanta Braves have been in flux due to the change from TBS superstation to Peachtree TV.
DirecTV has given us the following update. It is important to note that it is not a final agreement yet, but they are very close and confident that everything is resolved (or they wouldn't have sent us this).
My understanding is that Atlanta local market will get games on Peachtree local station (which is not final for HD yet).
Regional fans will get the games on the old Turner South station (is that now Sport South?) in HD.
Out-of-market fans will get the games in Extra Innings in HD.

TBS was broadcasting Braves games on their Superstation for years. This year TBS is now PeachTree broadcasting in Atlanta, but they also holds the rights to broadcast SOME Braves games in Braves territory (the old Turner South territory) in addition to Atlanta.
We are working with PeachTree to get a deal done. I've spoken to that group today to see if it's ok to let this information out on this community and we got that approval.
Basically what will happen is Braves game in Atlanta will be on Peach Tree locally in SD. HD not sure just yet but that is also a possibility.
The old Turner South territory will have 47 games available for DIRECTV customers in that territory in SD and HD.
Furthermore, these games will also be available on MLB Extra Innings for Braves fans nationwide that are not part of the Braves territory or the Atlanta DMA.
So Braves fans should be happy campers. Again, the deal is not officially signed yet but because of the large volume of calls and emails, we are at least reactively telling Braves fans that good news is coming soon. Hopefully an official announcement soon.
