Im watching an archive via WIFI and the HD quality looks amazingly good, but I am not using a ROKU I am watching on my laptop. :)

This is my first time using MLB.TV and am surprised how good it looks for being over the internet.

Watching MLB from the internet on an HD tv using their HD variable resolution/speed software is ok, but not really HD using 1.5Gb cable....has some skips and moire glore. Would most likely look better using a faster line.... Looks good on laptop, windowed.

Roku would be great if they add hulu.com !

I've got a capable PC with 7 MB internet speed and I get the occasional freezes. PQ with NEX-DEF is great. When I watch on my TV, I connect using my Netbook. Not enough horsepower to stream with NexDef so the PQ isn't great. I too would be interested in hearing HD observations. I'd buy a ROKU with enought positive comments.

A quick glance on EBay shows a couple of boxes going for $121. Is there more than one ROKU box?

Is the Yes Network blacked out and other Yankees Broadcasts that are on the National Broadcast Schedule, in the Yankees DMA which is basically all of NY State and other neighboring states? I tried the free preview in the past and they would not allow me to pick up any of the Yankee feeds.

MLB.TV feeds are blacked out in market. NY Yankee fans in NY / CT / PA / NJ are expected to watch the Yankees on YES Network.

Blackout rules are blackout rules. No matter what service you have. I'm in the SD area, but have DISH. I don't get the Padres game because they are exclusive to Cox cable. In turn, they black out the Dodgers and Angels games since my DMA is SD. The Premium looks great and even better when you utilize the Slingcatcher and I send it to my 73". Not true HD by anymeans, but a stunningly clear picture.

would a 3 mb speed download internet plan work for the HD content?

Probably not...too close for comfort:

Roku is pleased to announce the release of software version 2.3 b59 for the Roku player. This release includes the following features:

Amazon Video On Demand Search - search for specific titles in the Amazon Video On Demand library directly on the Roku player via on-screen keyboard.

5.1 Surround Sound - Select Amazon Video On Demand titles are now available with 5.1 surround sound audio. In order to take advantage of programs with 5.1 Surround Sound, you must:

1. Have a TV or AV receiver capable of decoding Dolby Digital
2. Connect your Roku player to your TV or AV receiver using HDMI or Optical Audio cables
3. Have a broadband connection of at least 3.5 Mbps (5.0 or greater is recommended for the best experience).

If your setup meets these requirements, on your player go to Settings, Audio Mode and select "5.1 Surround Sound".

Note that not all content is available in 5.1 Surround Sound. Look for the "5.1" icon on the program’s detail screen.

MLB.TV Premium - With Roku and MLB.TV Premium, you can now watch your favorite team no matter where you live. Catch live, out-of-market games on your TV screen with your MLB.TV Premium subscription and your Roku player and watch local market or other nationally televised games approximately 90 minutes after they end.

For more information please visit Watch LIVE baseball games on your Roku Player | MLB.com: Subscriptions.

All Roku players will receive the new software update automatically. To update your player immediately, click the 'Settings' button, then 'Player Info' and select 'check for update' (if this does not work for you the first time, try again immediately).

Curious to know, what's your internet access speed?

Supposed to be 10 megabit...but at times it's a bit slower. I have used it on a 5 megabit DSL connection with no issues. If the speed is slower it will lower the quality to adjust to your internet speed.

Great Picture in HD

this little box is so f..king amazing i cant believe it, just order a month of MLB.TV and the picture is so clear its unbelievable sh*t damm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
