Reds are 2010 National League Central CHAMPIONS!!!!

So it's official now in the AL..............Rangers, Twins, Rays and Yankees are your playoff teams.

But we only know two things:

1. The Twins will open at home

2. The Rangers will open on the road

Who each of them plays will be determined by sunday.

Well I would hope so !

Only way it wouldn't be is if the yanks and then Ray's tied ... now, would they play another game, or go by head to head records ?

No, they're both in.

If they end in a tie, the Rays would be AL East champs based on head-to-head.

6 of the 8 postseason spots are filled- Yankees, Rangers, Rays, Twins, Phillies, Reds (mucho bonus points for how Cincy got in).

All that remains- the three-horse race between the Braves, Padres, and Giants (Colorado shot themselves in the foot with their recent skid)

OK, so they go by H2H, cool.

Yep, it happened with the Yankees and Red Sox in 2005. The Sox beat the Yankees in game 162 to tie the AL East, but the Yanks won the season series, so they won the division.

Of course it didn't matter anyways, as they were BOTH eliminated in the ALDS (Yankees lost to Angels, and Red Sox lost to White Sox).

Roxs are out. Now I have a feeling it will be both the Padres and the Giants. I was hoping the Giants would die.

Again, the experts predict the NL West to be a weak division, and yet again, the WC comes out of the west

While the Phillies are going to be the favorite in the National League, I think the Reds could be a scary challenger- they have the firepower to match Philly's.

I have no idea where you're getting your info, but TRUST ME the Red Sox have been ELIMINATED!!
The Yanks were 1/2 game behind the Rays and the Rays had a magic number of 1 to start and the Yanks had a magic number of 2 to start today. With today's win it went down to 1. How in the heck winning one game eliminates 2 is beyond me, but somehow it happened

I see where the mistake was made. The Sox are 6 back with 6 games left to play, so that means it is an official tie. But the Yanks only have 4 games left with 94 wins. It is because the sox have played 2 fewer games and are 7 back in the win column, even though they are only 5 back in the loss column.

If the Giants make it, they will be the favored team. Their starting pitching in a short series can dominate any offense and is the best of all of the playoff teams.

I hate to say it, because I cannot stand the Giants.

The Yankees and Rays both came into tonight with 93 wins (now they both have 94). The Red Sox have 87 wins with 6 games left (including tonight's game), therefore the most the Red Sox could win would be 93.
