I will say that it not offical but I heard a rumor they are just going to pull it do to a software problem running nfl game mix and mlb mix at the same time . Instead of trying to rush fix it they they will have it ready for next season. This is just rumors among operations mangers nothing solid.
sounds like an excuse to cover up bandwidth issues

Whether I use it or not though, I simply don't feel it's good business to take someone away that someone pays that much extra for... even if it's only one day a week.

My thoughts as well, when they could easily (as far as we know) take off a PPV or two.

Makes no sense.

One or 2? Try 22. A few were shared.

HD PPV's were used today:
15 for NFLST
4 for Hot Pass
3 for MLBEI

So yes, all those HD PPV's are needed.

I called them today to complain and mention that my timer for the Red Sox game failed to kick off this morning, it was as if NESNHD was gone for a few minutes and so my timer stopped. I'm going to follow up this week since they still have not told me what is going to happen for the next two Sunday's and I feel like a credit of some kind is due since I use the MLB Mix regularly and today neither the SD or HD versions were available.

So you are saying that 22 of the HD PPVs available normally were not today? I did not check.

I am saying they could take off another one of those (I assume they had some left) rather than taking off a channel of another expensive sports package.

what all of you are saying just tells me that directv does have bandwidth issues after all............

Why this year and not last year though? Not much, if anything, has changed that I can tell that would put them in more of a bind than last year.

Theres a total of 27 HDPPV's, 22 of those had to be used yesterday for what I listed above. Five of those were left turned on as HDPPV's.

Yes they do, which is why we probably won't see anymore new national HD channels until D12 is up and running.

But yesterday was the max with NFLST, it had the most games yesterday. So they "could" add maybe 1-3 new HDs if they wanted to, but I don't know if they want to risk it.

I'm an EI subscriber, but I wouldn't have known about this problem without reading about it here because I've only used the mix channel once, for about 10 minutes. But this is because the only games I've watched the entire season have been Red Sox, Giants, and Brewers games. The mix channel doesn't do anything for me.

But I do agree that paying $200 for a premium service should guarantee the channel's available. Even if it means shutting down multiple PPV channels.

After sending an e-mail to complain about the MLBEI Mix Channel not being on the last several Sundays, I have had several conversations on the phone with DTV reps and I can tell you that it will NOT be available for the next 2 Sundays either. I explained that that was not acceptable as 1/6 of what I paid for was not being delivered. I have just completed filing on-line complaints with the Attorney General of Maryland and the BBB. The BBB complaint is being handled by a division in CA called Southland.

This happened last year as well. Not with MLB Mix HD because that didn't exist, but they shut down the Strike Zone channel on Sundays during September. I wrote DirecTV and got this response after their first response told me about ESPN baseball blackouts on Sunday nights. I guess this resolution specialist did his job because after this I have resolved to not subscribe to MLBEI next year....I'll use MLB.TV on the Roku and HTPCs.

I especially liked the P.S. a very nice touch. Nothing like sticking your finger in a customer's eye after telling them "tough".

Thanks for writing us back.

I apologize for previous miscommunication and inconvenience. Starting with 9/13, 9/20 and moving forward, on Sundays only, the MLB Mix HD channel 720-1 will be preempted.

I appreciate your taking the time to let us know of your preferences. Your feedback has been forwarded to DIRECTV management

Thanks again for writing. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dennis B ID 418493

P. S. Football season is here! Catch up to 14 games every week this fall with NFL SUNDAY TICKET, now available at directv.com/nfl.

9/27: No Game Mix...all the local channels are blacked-out opn EI. What a piss-poor way to treat the EI customer.

Since I am in Minnesota and I see the only Twins-Royals game lists on our Local Channel it doesnt appear that all locals are blacked out. Royals are not listed on FSKC.

Don't get me wrong this no MLB Game mix crap sucks. Going to really piss me off next Sunday if the Twins/Tigers come down to the last day.
