I made my first trip to PNC Park yesterday. What a beautiful ballpark and the ushers and other stadium personnel were as nice and as accommodating as I have ever seen.Only downside was the traffic after the game with game, casino and regular rush hour traffic.

It's hard when a city is in the middle of three rivers, only so many bridges and if you take the wrong one you better know how to get back.

Tim Wakefield drew a crowd of 39,438 to PNC Park yesterday, its largest ever, exceeding the published seating capacity by nearly a thousand and easily topping its previous attendance record of 38,904 for the 2006 MLB All-Star Game.

So after finding out why the Marlins/Mariners game is in Seattle and not Miami why is today's game a night game in Seattle?
Starts at 7:10 Pacific time

I know WHY the series was moved (hence the 1st part of my post...So after finding out why the Marlins/Mariners game is in Seattle and not Miami)

The question is why on a Sunday they'd have a night game when it isnt on ESPN and actually starts AFTER the ESPN game?

I always park in the parking lot on 6th street directly across the Clemente Bridge from the park. $5, a short wait to get out and easy access to the bridges.

I did take the wrong bridge one night in a thunderstorm, but blindly found my way back to Greentree where I was staying. :)

I use to park at station square until they started to charge a arm and a leg to ride the damn boat.

I hate walking across that bridge, I will not go to another game until that subway under the river is done, next year hopefully.

It's free to park at the casino if you gamble either before or after the game.

Yeah...that's pretty weird. How long ago do you book a concert, anyway? Is there no regard in 'whatever-they're-calling-that-stadium-right-now' for the Florida Marlins' schedule? At what point did it get switched to Seattle?

Totally bizarre.

And I agree, why start the game at 7 PM local time? Even though it was shown in Seattle it was not part of the Extra Innings package, because it overlapped the ESPN game. Just very strange all around.

The Dolphin ownership, regardless of who it was, has never given a crap about the Marlins. EVEN if they were not gonna get a stadium, they had stated that they would no longer allow baseball to be played there after the 2013 season.

Long before the season startedit changed
Marlins ready for home away from home | marlins.com: News

Prior to the start of the season, MLB announced the Interleague change because Sun Life Stadium was already obligated to host the U2 concert. In the offseason, other options were weighed, but ultimately it was decided to play the series, which begins on Friday, in Seattle."

Totally bizarre.
yep...

Bud must have been drinking when he agreed to that schedule ;)

Just heard an interesting stat. Don't know if it is true, but I did hear this on the radio. They said baseball attendance is down about 400,000 overall. 330,000 of that is the Dodgers alone. 75% of the decline in attendance is from one franchise. Even with that, they may still draw over 3 million.

I would be very surprised if they still draw 3M.

Why? They have already drawn over 1.5 million half way through the season. They are still #2 in the NL in total attendance and #4 in average.

finally found a reason. I guess the soccer team was playing next door at Qwest....err CenturyLink Field (the Seaducks field) at 1:00....guess they didnt want to book both stadiums at the same time
If someone is wondering why the Sunday game was in the evening, it is because the Sounders had a home game at CenturyLink Field at 1 pm and that was scheduled before this series was moved to Seattle.

Well, if they can draw 3M as a last place team (or damn close), good for them.

I wonder what the ACTUAL attendance is VS the paid attendance ...

The actual attendance is much lower for a few reasons. Many are protesting McCourt and refuse to show up. Also many season ticket holders are afraid to give away or sale their tickets because if those people get caught doing something wrong, then the season ticket holder will lose all of their tickets or the rest of the year

Thiose are the reasons I was surprised that they are on pace for 3M.
You would think with the team in turmoil with the owners and playing poor ball for the most part would tend to keep people away ... but like you said, the ACTUAL attendance is quite different.
