I noticed KTLA and others were in the guide before going back to normal.Sounds like some of the computer equipment malfunctioned to me.A solar flare wouldn't cause map down, and out of market locals showing in the guide.
I dunno, a solar flare could cause a computer to malfunction, and if it's the one that controls the market/mapdown filters, then why not? The symptoms reported sounded like all filters were removed, so everyone saw all the physical channels without any filtering and without any specific mapdowns.Sounds like some of the computer equipment malfunctioned to me.A solar flare wouldn't cause map down, and out of market locals showing in the guide.

I saw locals from across the country, including mine, but none in HD. Very strange. Fortunately, I do get OTA locals if I need 'em next time.
A solar flare is unlikely to cause a single computer such as the uplink PC at Dish to shift all the channels. Then turn off them in the map down. It might cause a PC to take down everything but not what happened.I dunno, a solar flare could cause a computer to malfunction, and if it's the one that controls the market/mapdown filters, then why not? True that is what I 1st thought. But when they were reporting that everything about 9k was working that it had to be a PC error sent to the guide data at the uplink.I'm not so sure this is a weather related issue this time.
Unless they cleared fast, I dont see any storms on their radar that would have done that within the last 2 hours.
Are you only looking at Gilbert AZ. Cause on the nat radar there are storms moving thru right now in Cheyenne, WY.Unless they cleared fast, I dont see any storms on their radar that would have done that within the last 2 hours.
I looked at Cheyenne then and just looked again now and the only storms I see are a ways off to the West.
