Hi guys. I want to sign up for HBO just to watch the last season of The Sopranos. The season runs until June. My question is, can I cancel the HBO subscription in June, or is there minimum monthly contract of 6 or 12 months for example?
I don't see how that is extortion. It is done to cut done on people doing exactly what you are doing.
Interesting point. I still think HBO and Dish should be happy to get extra money for programming for 3 months instead of getting no money. In the end, $5 is not a big deal...thanks for the input guys.
Does anyone know how to get a good deal on HBO? I'm wanting to do the same thing. Is there any way to get it for a discount for being a good subscriber?

According to their web site, if you downgrade within 30 days, there will be a $10 fee charged.
Go to the web site http://directv.com/DTVAPP/index.jsp and enter downgrade in Search.Where does it say that?

It says "may be subject" to a $10 fee, and I understand they've done it.
Oops. My mistake. I'm sorry. I usually look at the Directv forums. Ended up in the Dish Forum instead. Sorry about that. But this is dish network, not directv.
