I have been investigating the possibility of using a mini-BUD to get the ABC/ESPN feeds. Has anyone had any luck with this? Or for the CBS football feeds? I live in NE PA. If anyone has done this successfully what LNB and dish was used? Thanks.

I don't have a mini-bud, but I can safely say that you're not going to be able to get the NFL feeds on it. They're DVB-S2 and you're going to need a good size dish to even get a peep from those signals. Probably a 10 footer and up, depending on where your location is.

get a 6 footer. It will save you hours of endless headaches trying to get games only to have 0 signal or a pixeling signal.

They seem to use lower power so even a 6 footer on some sats are hit and miss. Most come in good enough :)

The CBS feeds are DVB-S2 9/10 FEC. I dont even get a whiff of them on a 6 footer ;)

9/10 FEC! Didn't even know there was an option for such poor error correction. I thought 7/8 was the worst. They must need all the bandwidth they can get for the original data...

Well, I'll show you what they look like...:D

But once you see them, you'll be looking for a bigger dish...:)

With that 12 foot Paraclipse, I'm sure a 9/10 FEC doesn't matter :D ...

I imagine that a 10 foot dish is minimum for such a signal. I do know where there's a 10 foot Winegard (or Perfect 10, can't tell the difference) in my neighborhood, but its damaged...
