GK Films has had the rights for a few years and now they're teaming up with MGM to make the reboot happen. Properties like Tomb Raider are exactly why the reboot should exist. The Jan DeBont and Simon West films from the early aughts cast the perfect person in the perfect outfit at the perfect time, but were so sloppily scripted, shot and edited that they became the definition of mediocre.
