For more experienced mercury 2 users, I can't figure out how the EDIT TP function is supposed to work on the Merc2. I tried to delete some empty tp's last night, and kept getting Invalid Parameter msgs whenever I try to pick a tp to delete. Besides that, when I pick a tp from the list, and use the red button to Edit - the next screen is showing me a different satellite name, that is grayed out, other than the sat I'm on. Is weird, seems to have the correct tp list but wrong sat name, and even though it says Invalid parameter , it does seem to delete the tp. In some other attempts, it seems to add a tp with a bogus freq, and add it about 10 times to the tp list.
Anybody else have such behaviour with this receiver, or does it sound like my firmware may have corrupted? It has the latest file from the Fortec site on it.

I use this feature all the time, Tony. The wrong satellite name shows up because you've changed the sort order of the satellites to list them by position ( instead of "default") . It still works on the satellite you selected, though.
The strange behavior of deleting is what I'm most familiar with. You need to be very deliberate on selecting the tp to delete, otherwise the previous parameters remain in the other fields and nothing gets deleted. After I delete 10 or so, then I power down the receiver and power up again, to re-initialize the memory , and the bogus entries go away.
Both my Merc's work the same way, I doubt they'll ever fix it , but it can be worked with.

:)

Thanks Brent, I knew I hadn't scanned in a NSS807 or whatever that was , that kept coming up!
It's confusing for sure, doing the factory default might be easier than all that stuff. Wish they would fix it though, I kinda like this receiver. I won't worry with reloading the file then..

Personally, I hate having my sats in anything but position order. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. :)
I DO like the Merc , though, maybe just cause it does the job, and I'm comfortable with it.
